Best eMMC Solution - SU-6808, SU-6908 Gang Programmer



Today, eMMC is everywhere because of the widely used on cell phones and GPS.
So Leap release Gang eMMC programmers SU-6808 as the best solution.



Nowadays, there are two kinds of eMMC tool, one is like duplicator and the other is programmer.



1. Duplicator

(1).Need the master programmer.

(2).Need master ICs when mass production.



2. Programmer:

(1).No need master progarmmer, can got the master file from PC and SD card.

Leap's Programming Solution


                                        Flash Gang Programmer SU-6000


If someone ask me what is the most famous programmer of Leap, I will answer SU-600/ SU-6000  due to its high market share. Espically in NAND Flash market, it is invincible because of its programming speed and well supported device list.(Ultra high NAND Flash programming speed: 32 bits/sec.)

SU-600 is a flash progrommer , which is single site programmer and SU-6000 is 4 sites flash programmer. The flash here espically means NAND flash.

In fact, NAND Flash is difficult for updating on programmer, it is much complicated than other kinds of IC. But our RD of SU-600/SU-6000 is a real genius, his name is Rack. I always think Rack is a legend of Leap. He doesn't talk much and has a porker face, but in fact he has some special snese of humor. But he always can update the IC on our programmer with the fastest time that other engineers can't even imagine. Most important of all, the software always works fine. So we seldom receive complains from customer.

That's why SU-600/ SU-6000 has high market share because when talking about NAND flash, no other brands can support better than us.  We are the leading brands in this field.

SU-320 and SU-3280 are different, SU-320 is a 4 site universal stand alone programmer and SU-3280 is 16 sites.  SU-3280 is for mass production. (One SU-3280 can finish programming hundreds of the devices per hour.)  And consideing that production line usually do not have computers, we design it as the stand alone programmer, so that the operator can use it without linking to the computer.

At the beginning these 2 programmers can not support NAND Flash, only SU-600/ SU-6000 can. But now we start to add more and more NAND flash on SU-320 and SU-3280 to make it real universal. (The programming speed is even faster than SU-600/SU-6000.)

Desktop Automated Programmer- AH-160




In the last article, I show our Automated programming system which is for the factory. As you can see, it is huge and heavy. (About 450 Kilograms. ) Some companies do not have the factory, but they still have medium amounts for production. It is an embrass situation, because if they use manual programmers, the UPH is not enough. But apperantely, an Automated Programming System is too much.



That's why Leap worked on an Desktop Automated Programmers to solve this problem. This idea is brilliant because it is just like a small and light programming system, which you can put it in your office, and make your office like a production line.

The main concern is the loud noise of the automated machine . It is definetely not appropriate to make loud noises in the office by any machine. (Even the air conditional should not be too loud, not to mention the production machine. ) Unlike other Automated Programming System, AH-160 is an Office Automation Machine. Which means it doen't need the air facilities, so it will not cause the any loud noise.

AH-160 is build in 4 of our stand alone gang programmer SU-320. (It can program 4 pcs of IC at the same time. ) Which means AH-160 can program 16 pcs of IC at the same time!
And its UPH is 550. (Our engineer try it and tell me actually it can up to 700.) Besides, its dimension is 520x700x550 mm and only 70 KG. So it is not difficult to move it from office to prodcution line or labtory.  The operation of software is easy and friendly. (As all Leap's product) Most important at all, the price is much lower than the Automated Programming System. Automated Programming System

Why should we use Automated Programming System?

When you have the large quantities programming requirement, what should you do?
To buy an Automated programming system or manual programmers?
For most of people, to buy an Automate programming system seem to be very expensive, indeed, you do have to cost some budget on it.  But is the cost really higher than manual programmers?
For the list price of the product, of course Automate programmers are much expensive.

Manual Gang Programmer SU-320 (Able to support 16 devices at the same time) 


I think most buyers forget or underestimate the cost of the payment to the workers.
If you need to  program 40 K devices per day, you will definitely not choose manual programmers.

That's because you will need to hire more than 10 workers for this mass production. (We assume the UPH of the manual programmer is 350 to 400) If the average payment per month for one worker is USD 1000, it will cost you USD 10000 per month.

But if you use an Automated programming system such as AH-480, the UPH is amazing  up to 3000. So you only need 2 workers to operate the system. Which means you can save at least USD 8000 per month. Though the list price of Automated programmer is much expensive, but if we consider it from the long term  perspective (Actually, less than one year), it can save much budget.


Besides, the yield rate for Automated programmer is up to 99.8 %, which is definitely higher than manual programmer.  There is logfile for each device, so it is easy to check the quality and quantity of the devices.

In fact , for mass production, the adaptors of manual programmers are easily to damage than using the adaptors of the Automated programmers.  Because the state of stress is evenly distributed, whereas the adaptors of manual programmers are not. The useful time of adaptors of Automated programmers could be twice as much than the manuals'.

In conclusion, if you have the mass production requirement. To buy an automated programming system is the best solution.  Of course, due to the different programming speed of different devices, the UPH will be different. So you will need to check with the manufacture of IC programmers to confirm that. (Note: AH-480 is the world top mass production programming system now.)

 If AH-480 is too large and not what you need.(If the programming quantities is not so many.)

10 Reasons for using our Logic Analyzer





Almost every electronic laboratory is equipped with oscilloscope, which can provide operation and measurement results to the engineers through 2~4 channels. However, on the measurement of digital system, the engineers generally place a higher demand on the channel number, other than oscilloscope.

To avoid the shortcomings of common bulky logic analyzer with complex functional operations, Leaptronix has developed a compact and
easy-to-operate LA20 Series Logic Analyzer. This manual has 10 reasons to help the engineers make a deeper understanding of the logic analyzer, and also enable the designers to market their new products quickly.

Reason 1: To make you design more easily

LA20 Series Logic Analyzer is designed in such a manner that you can identify clearly the logic state during measurement process, and mark 0 and 1 directly on the waveform. In addition, LA20 series has the function of Glitch.


You can visualize small glitch on the screen if glitch is detected, or find out more information if capturing data at a higher sampling rate.




Reason 2: find out quickly your desired data in the captured data

LA20 Series can capture over 512,000 dots separately from 32 channels, and also make it possible to process bigger data size.

Zoom/shift function: a special oval shift key provides visual control of zoom and shift capture, of which up/down for adjusting zoom, and left/right for shifting the waveform. When this key is pressed and held, the waveform will shift more quickly, and you can shift data from one end to the other end within a few seconds.




Reason 3: analyze parallel bus

LA20 Series allows for establishing parallel bus. The codes can be displayed automatically provided that the channels are assigned with data lines. Reason 4: analyze serial bus

The serial busses, such as: I2C, SPI and UART, are extensively applied to embedded system for communication and initialization; if the captured data is decoded artificially, this cumbersome job will take a lot of time. Start to test- How to use Serge Tester IWT-5000A


Before seeIing how IWT-5000A works, let's just know its evolution history quickly.
The first modal of our surge tester is IWT-5000, not IWT-5000A . In fact, IWT-5000A is the fourth edition. That's because we always looks for a better product and better service.

We enlarge the storage from 100 to 360 sets waveform, add I/O communication, improve the inductance range from 20uH to 0.2 uH, and add the self-calibration function...etc.

Anyway, let's start to see how this machine work:





Basically you just have to save the waveform of golden sample in IWT-5000A and connect the other samples you want to test to the black and red high voltage test line.

Then press the test button , the pass or fail result will show on the LCD monitor. It is easy for operator to judge . (Unless he or she doesn't understand the meaning of PASS and FAIL.) The default comparison is 10 %, but it can be set by the operators.(Some customers set it up to 20% or less.)

For testing motor, apparently surge tester is using in the factory, but how to use it for the mass production? 
So if the operator has to to test 4000 pcs of  the samples in a  factory per day, how could IWT-5000A meet their requirement?

If the operator has to connect the samples to the high voltage lines and press the button to test it, then remove it and test another samples, the total testing time will be more than 10 seconds for 1 sample. If the factory only work 8 hours per day, it can not meet their requirement. 

The only solution is to design the Automated  system or the semi automated system to reach this numbers of the production.

It is a tough question to solve, since we are in Taiwan and most of our customers are from overseas. But our distributors are very reliable and know how to solve these problems.



This is a video shows how they design the fixture and a system to test the samples. (They test 4000/pcs samples per day successfully. )

Most of our end users use our handler I/O control mode for connecting external controller as automatic use.
Of course, they can also connect it to computer and write more commends for remote control.

You can see the operator has to look at the messy waveform on the monitor and judge whether it is good or not.

It is not friendly, without the pass and fail on the monitor, the end user has to be a very very experienced worker to judge the waveform is good or not , I suppose. 

So the best solution is to design a test system with our IWT-5000A, and this is also one of a project we are planing to work on in the future.

We call this modal IWT-5000A-12, why is we call it "12 " is because there are 12 sets of high voltage test lines for testing the 24 windings of the rotors. We will design a box for connecting the high voltage test lines and a customized fixture for testing the motor. 
(I will share more information here once the project is working on, because I want all information and detail are 100% correct here. )

Besides, in the future, we will design more model for our surge testers for the different application.

Why to use a surge tester? (Impulse Winding Tester- IWT-5000A Introduction 1 )



Today I am going to introduce Leap's (Leaptronix's) top sell tester- IWT-5000A.

This Tester is an Impulse winding tester, which is called surge tester also.

I personally study this product the most because Thailand is my region and there are many factories there, and it is amazing that this tester is almost becoming our top sell products. 
I always remember that once a motor company from Thailand came to visit us for this machine. I was so surprised because they came to Taiwan and told us they want to visit us on the afternoon.

And I was barely prepare nothing, but fortunately, the good product is no need to introduce much, it speaks for them-self. So basically we just demonstrated it for them and answered few questions. Of course, they did not just buy it at the moment because we had to make sure IWT-5000A can actually test their products. 

So they did send two motors to us (Very heavy) for testing and it worked, then they just bought it. (Of course there were some technical questions from the customer. ) I would say that is because IWT-5000A is a very competitive product due to its surprising low price and good quality.

So if you are manufacture of motors, voltage transformer, generators, solenoid or inductance. You will need a surge tester(Impulse Winding Tester) to test the self-insulating property of the coil, so that the the defective products could be separated.


Why there are the defective products?  Below are the reasons:

  1. Layer short : The defect ( the wear off skin) of the lacquered wires, which caused brass wire to conduct.
  2. Layer insulation defect: The brass wires are not conduct, but the lacquered wires are chap and cause the corona discharge or spark discharge.
  

There are four comparison measurement to test that : AreaSize Comparison, Diffzone Comparison, Corona Amount Comparison and Corona Number Comparison.




Areasize ComparisonThe total area of A-B interval can be calculated to identify the difference degree of the two areas.




   Diffzone Comparison: The area difference of A-B interval can be calculated to compare the standard wave and identify the deviation degree. 







Corona Amount Comparison and Corona Number Comparison:




1.The test coil may discharge due to material damage, thus generating corona in the discharging curve.
2. Statistics is made with respect to the frequency of corona generation, which called as Corona discharging number.
3. After differential calculation, the number is Corona amount.
4. The test volume is subject to high frequency filter.
5.Application for discharging flutter.


In this first introduction, we just introduce who should use this machine and its testing theory.
